Within the context of the democratic package (EU4democracy) in Ethiopia, the PEV-Ethiopia project has implemented a 3-day Leadership and Conflict Management Skills for Electoral Stakeholders Training (LEAD) to representatives of Hawassa and Arba Minch University Law School and Political Science students and instructors.
The training was held in Addis Ababa on 30 October - 1st November, 2019. It is meant to equip the trainees with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute to the improvement of the electoral process in Ethiopia by improving their leadership skills and take on board means for preventing and mitigating the escalation of electoral violence and conflict throughout the respective electoral cycle.
The overall objective of the LEAD workshop is to look into ways in which representatives of electoral stakeholders (namely representatives of Electoral Management Bodies - EMBs), Non-Governmental Organisations, Political Parties, Academics and Practitioners can improve their leadership skills and take on board means for preventing and/or mitigating the escalation of electoral violence and conflict throughout the respective electoral cycle.
