On August 21st, a number of women politicians and activists gathered as part of the conference ‘The Reality of Women's Political Participation: Opportunities and Challenges’, organised by EU-JDID and the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy.
Held under the patronage of HE Minister Musa Maytaah, the conference witnessed the special attendance of Minister of State for Media Affairs and Government’s Spokesperson, Jumana Ghunaimat, Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs (MoPPA) Secretary General, Dr. Ali Al Khawaldeh, NIMD Country Representative Mr. Rami Al Edwan and representatives of the EU Delegation.
MoPPA staff members, activists, political figures and prominent women leaders participated in the event, which included discussions about women’s political participation and representation in public life.
Dutch expert, Mrs Petra Stiennen and Moroccan MP Khadija Al Ziani introduced the audience to several international, regional and local examples of accomplished women in different sectors.
