On 20 February 2025, ECES, through the Shawiri project funded by the European Union, organised the official handover ceremony of the preparatory documents for the establishment of the Comorian National Youth Council (CNJC) to the Minister for Youth, Employment, Labour, Sports, Arts and Culture. Through this project, the CNJC will be set up to serve as a consultation and coordination body responsible for ensuring that the aspirations of young people are taken into account and met. It will act as the voice of young people to ensure that they are better taken into account in the political, economic and social arena, and will coordinate the implementation and monitoring of the National Youth Policy through youth associations.
In the presence of the members of the Technical Committee for the establishment of the CNJC, the Project Manager, Hamza Fassi-Fihri, recalled the role of ECES in providing technical assistance to the Ministry of Youth and praised the commitment of the Directorate General for Youth and all the members of the Committee. The Minister, Ms Inayati Sidi, promised to bring the project to fruition and thanked the Shawiri project for its support.
