Did you know that ECES has been providing electoral and democratic support worldwide since 2010, carrying out activities in more than 50 countries, mainly, but not only, in Africa and the Middle East?
Africa is the continent where we have carried out the largest number of projects and activities, and we are currently implementing 1 continental project with the African Union where we have organized activities in more than 20 countries, a regional project with the Indian Ocean Community serving Madagascar, Comoros, Mauritius and Seychelles and 6 country projects. All our projects are funded by the EU and EU Member States as follows:
- EURECS Ethiopia, A European Response to Electoral Cycles Support in Ethiopia funded by the EU
- PARD Guinea Conakry: Projet d'Appui au Renforcement de la Démocratie ed République de Guineé, funded by the EU
- Tchad: Projet d'appui au Parlement et aux processus électoraux (PAPPE), financed by the EU
- Technical assistance in Chad in support of institutions in view of the constitutional referendum and presidential elections, financed by the EU
- Comoros Shawiri: Strengthening protection and participation of families, youth and civil society in the Union of Comoros, EU-funded
- Comoros: Appui à la société civile comorienne pour l'observation électorale et la communications, funded by the EU
- Indian Ocean Community - COI: Union of the Comoros, France for Réunion, Madagascar, Mauritius and Seychelles: Governance Peace and Stability Project. Funded by the Agence Française de Développement
- Pro Electoral Integrity—phase 2, funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in support of the African Union. Through this project, ECES provides technical and financial assistance to the African Union and the Association of African Election Authorities (AAEA).
At the same time, we have carried out missions and formulated projects submitted or about to be submitted to the EU and/or EU member states for Somalia, South Sudan, Gabon, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Ethiopia and Madagascar.
We are proud to support countries and regional and continental organisations throughout the African continent in conducting their elections and to support them in the prevention of electoral conflict.
