A four-day training on the mandate of the CNDH, human rights concepts, and reporting techniques is taking place from December 16 to 19, 2024, in N'Djamena for the staff of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) of Chad.
This initiative is part of the Projet d'Appui au Parlement et aux processus électoraux (PAPPE), funded by the European Union and implemented by ECES. The project's goal is to promote democratic governance in Chad while supporting actors involved in the extension and effective implementation of fundamental freedoms.
Targeted at heads of departments, heads of regional offices, and Presidential Advisors, the training aims to enhance participants' knowledge and skills by addressing key human rights concepts, protection mechanisms, and techniques for monitoring and reporting human rights violations.
During these four days, twelve sessions are organized to explore key topics such as the national and international legal framework for human rights, mechanisms for preventing and combating gender-based violence, the interaction between human rights and electoral processes, as well as best practices in electoral observation and human rights monitoring.
This training reflects the PAPPE Project's commitment to supporting Chadian institutions in strengthening their capacities and consolidating democratic governance.
