We are proud to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of our project in the Republic of Guinea, named "Projet d'Appui au Renforcement de la Démocratie en République de Guinée” (PARD-Guinée), funded by the European Union (EU) through the European Union’s Neighbourhood, Development, and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI).
Over the past year, we have worked with numerous institutions such as the “Conseil National de la Transition” (CNT), the “Haute Autorité de la Communication” (HAC), the “Secrétariat General du Gouvernement” (SGG), the Ministère de l’Administration du Territoire et de la Décentralisation (MATD) and Guinea’s Supreme Court to support the transition process in the Republic of Guinea and contribute to ensure a peaceful return to constitutional order.
We are implementing this project in collaboration with our partners Urban Republic, Democracy Essential, the Imagine ESG Foundation, EarthEcho Communications, Université de Liège, and Université de Cotonou.
Throughout the 1st Year of the PARD-Guinea project, we have implemented activities such as:
- Training on legislative work for CNT;
- Trainings for parliamentary radio journalists in audiovisual editing for CNT members;
- Training Workshop on the Challenges of Implementing the Journalists' Code of Conduct for Members;
- Capacity-building workshops for Supreme Court members on the basis of a better understanding of constitutional review and to prepare Supreme Court judges to exercise their powers with regard to electoral questions;
- Implementation of Leadership and Conflict Management Skills for Electoral Stakeholders (Lead) trainings for CNT, MATD, HAC, and CSOs members;
- Tranings to the Caucus des Femmes of CNT designed for communication, public speaking, advocacy, and lobbying;
- Training on media monitoring and the establishment of a media monitoring unit for HAC;
- Supported the relaunch of Guinea's parliamentary radio station;
- Among others.
We are honoured to continue to show our commitment to the Republic of Guinea. Through our collective efforts, we share our gratitude with all those who have supported us in successfully implementing the 1st Year of PARD-Guinea's project, and we look forward to continuing to support the development of democracy and stability in the country.
