Through the Shawiri project funded by the European Union, has supported the updating of the National Youth Policy of the Union of the Comoros. The draft document was presented to the Committee for the Establishment of the Comorian National Youth Council on Monday, 24 April 2025, in the presence of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Youth of the Union of the Comoros.
The context of the document has undergone major changes, taking into account the Emerging Comoros Plan, which has become the framework document for national policies. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Youth thanked ECES and the European Union for their support in updating this document, recalling that this update was requested by the Government meeting in the Council of Ministers when the draft establishment of the Comorian National Youth Council was presented to them last February.
ECES is continuing its work in the Union of the Comoros to establish this youth advisory body through the Shawiri project, which aims to strengthen social protection and the participation of women, young people and civil society.
