On Saturday, November 16, 2024, the people of Gabon went to the polls for the constitutional referendum. Our team on the ground supported Gabonese civil society in organizing election observation on this important day for the Gabonese people.
Our project, Projet d'appui à la société civile et aux Médias pour des élections inclusives et transparentes au Gabon (PACM-G), funded by the European Union, will support and prepare civil society for the upcoming presidential elections scheduled for August 2025, with the following overall objective: to strengthen Gabon's democratic space and contribute to the prevention of potential election-related tensions by supporting and accompanying key non-state actors (CSOs and media) for an inclusive, credible and peaceful electoral process.
The specific objectives are as follows:

The specific objectives are as follows:
- Enhance the knowledge and develop the skills of non-state actors, focusing on root causes and appropriate responses to electoral tensions ;
- Promote the inclusiveness and transparency of the electoral process by supporting civil society organizations in their awareness-raising and election observation activities.
- Promote conflict-sensitive journalism and support civil society monitoring of the media, with the aim of identifying and combating hate speech, risks of electoral violence and misinformation.
