As part of the ‘Support to Parliament and Electoral Processes Project’ (PAPPE), the official ceremony for the launch of the Chad National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) website and the application for tracking and monitoring complaints of violations took place today, 5 December 2024.

The ceremony took place at the CNDH headquarters and was attended by representatives of Chad's major institutions, the diplomatic corps, international organisations, human rights associations and members of political parties.

These two tools are essential to the CNDH's mandate. The new website will serve as an information and awareness-raising platform, giving citizens a better understanding of their rights and easy access to the resources and services offered by the CNDH. As for the application for tracking complaints of human rights violations, it will make it possible to receive, process, record and report violations that may occur in all of Chad's provinces, including the most remote areas.

These initiatives have been made possible by the PAPPE project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES). This support demonstrates the EU's commitment to promoting human rights and democracy in Chad.

We warmly congratulate the CNDH on this significant step forward and thank the European Union for its funding and unwavering support for this noble cause.
