As part of the Parliamentary and Electoral Process Support Programme (PAPPE), funded by the European Unionand implemented by the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES), the High Authority for Media and Audiovisual Communication (HAMA) conducted a field mission in 34 towns in Chad. The aim of this operation was to produce a comprehensive and up-to-date map of private, community, association and religious radio stations with a view to regulation, capacity building and targeted support.

To this end, a series of technical teams from HAMA, supported by its provincial branches and composed of media advisers and observers, carried out this mission between 21 and 30 April 2025. The objective was to assess the equipment, human resources, editorial content and operational constraints of local radio stations through interviews, technical inspections and field data collection.

This assessment mission of private radio stations provided an opportunity to analyse the realities of the radio sector in the provinces, measure the state of media coverage and identify priority needs in terms of training, funding and infrastructure. It led to the publication of the following reports, which are available at the following address: report

The results of this mapping exercise will enable HAMA to produce a comprehensive report for PAPPE.
