As part of the online training, entitled 'Developing an Internal Gender Policy in an EMB: why and how?' produced by the European Center for Electoral Support (ECES) within the framework of the Women's Forum of the Réseau des Compétences Électorales Francophones (RECEF), ECES has developed this publication as a practical tool for EMBs aiming to promote gender equality in their internal structure. This topic had been identified by RECEF members as a priority to be integrated into the Women's Forum action plan.
It should be recalled that the training was held on December 3, 2020 with the aim of continuing the reflection on existing practices within RECEF's EMBs, to make a kind of self-assessment of opportunities, challenges that exist and possible needs to achieve a gender-sensitive policy.
The training saw the participation of 12 EMBs (Benin, Burundi, Canada, Comoros, Guinea, Madagascar, Mauritania, Quebec, Romania, Senegal, Togo, Tunisia) of the 32 RECEF member EMBs, 4 international organizations and a total of 35 participants. Following this training, ECES offers, within the framework of the Women's Forum, support to EMBs wishing to put into practice the principles and tools presented during the training.
