Our project, Support to the Parliament and Electoral Process (PAPPE), funded by the European Union, held a training session for the staff of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) in N'Djamena.

28 participants, including commissioners and department heads, enhanced their knowledge of human rights and reporting techniques. The workshop focused on the legal framework, monitoring, and reporting of human rights violations, especially in the electoral context, using interactive teaching methods for effective learning.

Madjiguéné Thiam, our project coordinator in Chad, and Belingar Larmé, president of the CNDH, thanked the European Union and other partners for their support. This initiative marks a key step in strengthening the CNDH’s ability to protect and promote human rights in Chad.

Via the PAPPE project, we are supporting the CNDH in 5 strategic areas, namely:

  • Institutional development and material support;
  • Capacity building;
  • Visibility and awareness-raising;
  • Coordination and synergy with other entities (authorities, civil society organisations);
  • Protection of human rights.
