This project includes a comprehensive set of 10 activities, strategically designed to strengthen Bolivia's electoral process in preparation for the 2025/26 elections. The activities are organized across three main outputs.
Output 1 includes 4 activities aimed at enhancing the knowledge and capacities of key electoral stakeholders, such as the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE), Departmental Electoral Tribunals (TEDs), political parties, civil society organizations (CSOs), media, and vulnerable voter groups. These activities focus on conflict prevention, electoral security, and fostering trust in the electoral process through studies like the Electoral Political Economy Analysis (EPEA) and Electoral Security Threat Assessment (ESTA), as well as training on conflict management and electoral integrity.
Output 2 consists of 3 activities designed to bolster the capacity of CSOs in observing the electoral process. This includes providing technical support for election observation, media monitoring, and establishing an Election Situation Room to track electoral risks in real time, ensuring effective responses to potential conflicts and tensions during the election period.
Output 3 includes 3 activities that focus on strengthening media and CSO capacities, promoting voter awareness, and combating election-related disinformation and hate speech. These activities support media coalitions with conflict-sensitive reporting, facilitate dialogues to assess lessons learned and discuss electoral reforms, and organize a mobile caravan to raise awareness about citizens' rights, duties, and electoral procedures, particularly targeting vulnerable groups such as first-time voters and Indigenous communities.
Through these 10 activities, the project aims to enhance the overall integrity and transparency of Bolivia’s electoral process, reduce electoral conflicts, and build public trust in the electoral system.
