OUTPUT 3
Strengthened media and CSO capacities and increased awareness of Political Parties and the electorate (focusing on women, young first-time voters, and senior voters) to promote an informed vote and deter election-related disinformation and hate speech at the national and sub-national levels.
Activity 3.1 (8): Provide technical assistance to coalitions of media professionals focusing on conflict-sensitive reporting, fact-checking, disinformation and hate speech.
This activity focuses on providing technical support to media coalitions, training journalists in conflict-sensitive reporting, fact-checking, and addressing disinformation and hate speech. The project will collaborate with organizations like the DW Foundation and the ARU Foundation to improve election reporting, promote neutral and ethical journalism, and create a media coalition. It will also enhance media monitoring, support rural media, and promote freedom of expression through workshops and campaigns, particularly targeting vulnerable groups like first-time voters and Indigenous communities.
Activity 3.2 (9): Technical support and facilitation of existing or new dialogues regrouping various non-state actors to discuss election-related issues, assessment of lessons learned and recommendations from international and national election observation missions, and the performance of the OEP and fostering a public manifest in support of the Bolivian electoral Process.
This activity aims to facilitate dialogues between civil society, media, and other stakeholders to discuss election-related issues, lessons learned from previous elections, and recommendations from observers. It will focus on fostering public commitment to a peaceful electoral process and ensuring that non-state actors can scrutinize key electoral events. The activity will also include workshops to review the 2025 elections and co-design reforms for the 2026 subnational elections.
Activity 3.3 (10): In partnership with local CSOs, organise a mobile caravan and peaceful electoral campaign around the country to sensitise citizens to citizens’ rights and duties and electoral procedures and create discussions on several topics.
In partnership with local CSOs, this activity will organize a mobile caravan to raise awareness about citizens' rights, electoral procedures, and promote public discussions on various electoral topics. It will travel across four Bolivian departments, engaging local communities with tailored activities. The caravan will also conduct surveys to assess changes in voter awareness and could introduce a national prize to recognize exemplary electoral participation.
